Generations old enough to experience 9/11 are a fortunate group.
The best in humanity came together around the world in support and solidarity.
National pride was displayed by ALL political persuasions.
No division existed during that brief period.
People headed to church.
Few found answers there but kept looking.
(Imagine how far along we’d be if we had all kept looking.)
Shock and grief obliterated differences, selfishness, the need to blame or deride.
A utopia manifested in the aftermath of tragedy the United States had neither known or experienced before.
Ask survivors of war or natural disasters and they’ll tell you the one saving grace is the human beings bonding and
Banding together with concern and humility
At last.
Love flowed freely and spontaneously without qualms or prejudices.
Fear or self-involvement.
Suddenly, the common horror brought forth the common good
Proving what society could be, indeed what it should be, what we’re striving for for the future
When each person does their part to create their own spiritual heaven right here on our good ole’ Earth.
Right now. Right where you are.
Younger generations look upon 9/11 without a lot of feeling or understanding.
Therefore, it’s up to those who were there who lived this unique and special response in history
To spearhead the changing shift towards a ubiquitous nurturing and powerful spirituality.
That not-so-long-ago change began with each person turning within --
Then recognizing how direly our world needs love without.
For a little while people saw the bigger picture, realized what mattered - that they mattered - just as they were.
What was important shone through and the nonsense faded away.
It was a glimpse into the way it could be.
The way we’ll arrive at again one day, but this time, to stay
When we each do our part to earn it. ~t.
